pieces

This is my art reflective of the textbook readings;using  red clay to create this art work, which is informed by the movie, The Son of Saul, ( about the holocaust).The art is also inspired by the chant of the kaddish,the Jewish prayer for the dead, as it relates to the textbook in several ways; using the color red clay as in the San Francisco  potters,women who made pots to help raise money for their treatment for tuberculosis and this relates to the theme (from the textbook), and using emotional and religious chant s to inform the art as in  the Native American weaver, in the text book.This art work is called "pieces" and it stems from these ideas."Pieces" is what the Nazis called the dead bodies of the Jewish people who had been murdered in the  gas chambers and then dragged out to the mass graves for burning/cremation."pieces" is what their dead bodies were called.
